Now that you have the Virtual Machine ready, lets install Kali on it.

Start by double-clicking the machine or pressing the Start button.

You should see a screen like this. Click the Graphical Install button towards the bottom.

First, it will ask for your language, choose it and click Continue.

Choose your Location and then click Continue.

The next option is the type of Keyboard you are going to use. Typically, if you are in the United States, choose English American.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Next it will ask for a host name for the computer. You can change this if you want to. Click Continue

Next it will ask for you to input a Domain name, if you do not have one, don’t worry. Just click Continue.

Next will ask you for a password. After you have input a password, click continue.

Then you can Create a user by typing in the Username and clicking Continue.

Next you will chose your clock settings, then Click Continue.

Click Guided – use entire disk, This option will use the entire 20.00BG hard drive that you specifically created for this machine. It will not affect your actual computer.

This screen shows you how you are going to install the operating system, if yours looks like this screen you will be okay. Click the yes button and click Continue. Installing the system may take a while so go take a break and play some Xbox or something.

After it is done installing, it will ask for you to use a network mirror. Click No and then Click Continue.

Next it will ask you to Install a GRUB boot loader, Click Yes and Click Continue. The GRUB boot loader allows the operating system to immediately start when the computer is turned on.

When installing the GRUB boot loader, click the second option above. This device (/dev/sda) is the operating system you just created.

After it is done, it will give you a warning that the system will have to restart before use. Click Continue.

After the system restarts, you should see your login screen.

Now at this point, the default username is root, unless you had created your own username.

After inputting your username and password, you should have complete access to the Kali Linux operating system.
